Slovakia’s September 30th election saw Smer emerge as the largest party in Bratislava’s parliament, well ahead of liberal, pro-Western Progressive Slovakia (PS). Its leader Robert Fico has now formed a coalition, but before its agenda was even agreed, Western leaders, pundits and journalists
The US is also seeking color revolutions in Hungary and Georgia, to name two.
And it doesn't matter whether PiS wins in Poland today or not - the US Ambassador will snap his fingers and the Polish government will lovingly fellate its Master
Next door in Austria, the press is relatively neutral regarding Fico, at least in Der Standard. I haven't had time to look in Die Presse. Two headlines in the last three weeks, and a few mentions in other articles about Fico's alleged "slide towards Orban" are the only evidence I could find in 30 minutes of bias against Fico.
Slovakia's NATO support is mentioned only objectively, which is nice to see. That may be because Austria is not part of NATO, and in comments regarding Austria's neutrality there are a lot of comments saying Austria has moved too far into NATO's orbit.
I'm happy Austria is not part of NATO and neutral per its constitution, so I'm biased against Austria moving closer militarily to NATO.
Yes! I was/am worried since Robert Fico won.....I am so sick of these ‘meddlings’ in post-socialist Europe. Thank you for your reporting! It makes a few things clearer. I actually think that the bigger picture is - not only to “make Slovakia safe for neoliberalism” in the past, but to return the whole Western world on this delirious path! THANK YOU!

Hamas was created and financed for years by “our beloved” apartheid Bibi (of “Kill Rabin” fame), who believed that Arafat’s secular PLO was a more serious enemy than religious extremists.
Hamas was also rejecting a two-state solution -- just like Bibi and his extremists who, together with US, sabotaged a two-state solution for decades.
Great report! Let me add, that Slovakia had seen something like a color revolution already in 2018. Then, suddenly, dubious large protests arose in the streets of Bratislava, well orchestrated by the PS party, which had been supported by western NGOs. Reason was declared the murder of the investigative journalist Jan Kuciak. From the pressure of the streets first the minister of interior and then Fico resigned. Since then none of the investigations during the new government produced any proof of guilt for Fico's government. On the contrary, the court found the murderer connected to a gang of criminals and possibly hired by one of slovak oligarchs.
Further campains against Fico helped the opposition to keep him away from government till elections in Sept. 2023.
Losers have to cheat to win!
Great read, many thanks. Would you be OK if I translated it to Slovak and published on my Substack?

Good luck to R. Fico. It won't be easy going. And many thank for the update. Substack did in the end finish the payment.

Great piece, people I know are so skeptical when I try to explain the role of the NED in these color revolutions. This will help thank you!

How do you describe a country (US) that totally supports, militarily and financially, TWO countries (U + I) with Nazi-dominated governments?
