Control freak, post colonial power junky in Washington does not have an intellectual capacity to comprehend what is happening. Let them have temper tantrums while “Axes of Sanity” are creating a new diverse, equal and inclusive world.

Sending a strong physiatrist team with enough strait jackets to Washington might also be a solution before they set the world on fire.

American sanctions spree is another form of depraved Dahiya Doctrine of Israel. Same terrorist approach to harm civilian population as much as possible so they revolt against their political system or their resistance factions. To kill and destroy civilians in order to subjugate a country. In order to force this country into obedience. It is terrorism of course.

Amazing how there is no trace of any desire to behave like human beings in the US government. Nobody says "wait, it is indecent and criminal to do that". Nobody says "wait, we don't have any right to supremacy".

Recall that the UK - and presumably USA - also "sanctions" its very poorest people if they are fx 2mins late for a benefits meeting, and they do not care even if such sanctions throw a family with children into homelessness - that almost seems to be a goal, to use poverty as a tool of social terrorism.

"Sanctions" are what a financialised Elite structure reach for, the banking elites see financial measures as their territory and are comfortable with them.

"Sanctions" are the use of force by the financial system.

Evey use of force creates a counter-force or avoidance.

Roll on BRICS.

I support the development of BRICS. It's about time the U.S. acknowledges it.

The US will never acknowledge BRICS, as such acknowledgement would be to admit defeat in their feeble minds, given that BRICS is everything the G7 isn't, and rather than providing the US/G7 with a goal to better, they would rather attempt to break it down.

How in heck does this shining star get us to laugh outright at the insufferable murderous greedy-grabbers with his "mere words?" Would that Kit were paid by us in the gold his weighty nuggets of turned phrase, not to mention his tight construction are more than worth each.

Stay on this. I'm printing each article out in super large bold font as my new wallpaper in the old folks co-housing lobby. People are beginning to read again!

The only solution for the many wars, economic blockages, and sell of arms to one party in spite of their crimes will be a succes of the multilateral system which declares that all countries must respeted and the no intervention in internal issues of any country🙏

Another good article and I agree. The end of the empire is at hand. The only thing that remains is how long before the collapse occurs and the rest of the world is freed from their tyranny. It's funny how a country that was built on the curse of English tyranny now finds itself following the same path towards their doom.

I'm so glad these horrible sanctions are no longer working the way they used to.

You would think after so many years and so much misery for millions of people the simple question might arise: 'The US is sanctioning literally dozens of countries all over the world - where is the success story? Where have you actually achieved the change in policy you are supposed to be looking for?'

Well written. The image of all of OFAC fitting in one conference room brings of Dr. Strangelove images or maybe Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Singing a parody of a 1980s Police hit is beyond satire. A regulatory agency, referencing the Police as they act with glee while imposing a global police state is stranger than fiction.

Talk about tone deaf, not to mention grossly immoral.

Sanctions are just another word for the biggest bully on the block. The person/country that should be sanctioned is the United States. If the rest of the world cut is off on the USA things would change.

It had to happen. For every action there is a reaction. The fact that the US Empire is still using sanctions that don't work just shows its leaders don't know WTF else to do.

Just another symptom of rapid imperial decline.

US sanctions are an Inversely Proportional measure of US diplomatic ability and soft power, based on failed foreign policy, in addition to declining military capability.

So given the failure of US foreign policy, diplomacy, soft power and declining military power, how are sanctions working out for the US???

Take your time, and think hard before answering.

What gives the US government the right to tell other nations and people in other nations who they can and can't trade with?

This very simple question destroys the whole policy.

I believe the British sanctions against Russia are even more punitive than the American version. 1,707 individuals and 339 entities are sanctioned by Britain. The OFAC, meanwhile, checks in with 22 individuals and 104 entities. British "leadership," as they like to brag. How's it working out?
