In the case of Serbia/Kosovo 1999, I understand the US gained a foothold in Kosovo. But in the case of Bosnia, there may be some peacekeeping troops, but what did Clinton hope to achieve? I was surprised to learn that US intel initially was against this war, as later on they supported it, also in Croatia.
I tutored Bosnian refugees in ESL about twenty years ago, and they always had words of praise for Clinton... I didn't understand their praise for him then, and I still don't understand it now. The US only caused more pain for them and their families. Was any of it necessary?
